I can't believe it's been so long!

Wow, I simply can't believe it has been so long since I posted.

I really don't have a lot to share.

I colored a tree...I like it a lot...I think it will be an e-Christmas Card.  I'm simply not up to doing much more than that.  : )

The doctor says the surgery went well, I had constant vertigo for a week, and it's still coming and going, but I'm much better than I was a week ago!!

Here's my cute little tree:
I drew this little tree in ink, and colored it in Photoshop.

Here is a work in progress.
I showed you  a HOPE design, but I simply didn't like it, I felt he letter for HOPE got lost in the design, so I started over.
HOPE - before coloring.
I will be hand coloring this version, as I plan to give it as a gift.
(and we all know my color printer kind of sucks!)
This one has many of the same doodles in it the first one did,
but I changed some things, and think I like this one better.
I didn't use a lot of black areas, I will probably add some later,
but wasn't sure what I might want to color.
So this doesn't stand alone very well,
the colored version is on it's way.
There are a few more things I could add, not much, the recovery from this surgery has been brutal.
I will post them as soon as I'm up to using the scanner.  Yes, I know it's not that hard, but I do have to get out of bed.  : )  Not something I've been able to do much lately.

Hope to post more, and come around to see all of you soon.

May your holidays be happy, and filled with joy!
Remember, Christmas isn't about all the stress, hustle, and bustle...it's about giving.  I'm not talking about presents, I mean giving of yourself.  Showing people you care.  Be nice to a stranger, help your neighbor....
Be Happy and you will light up someone's day!
and remember try to keep this spirit of Christmas all year long!

  1. Hey Wendy,
In my world "hope" always meshes with the design of life!
Your squiggly tree is fantastic I truly love it. I just wonder if it is listing to your right ear or your left?

  2. Just love your tree!! I'll be waiting to see hope after it is colored.

Sorry the recovery has been so rough, but glad you are on the mend. I agree. Smiles and kindness is free. :)

  3. Judith,
I think it depends on which side of the tree I'm standing on.
Actually in the original sketch there was something else on the page and I drew this around it...this I liked, the rest I didn't...so this has become a happy place. My Whoville tree. I drew two others, this was the first, and is still my favorite. I did a different way to color it on Photoshop, I think it looks pretty cool.

I'm looking forward to seeing what HOPE tells me it wants next....I wonser how it wants to be dressed up?

Mr. Notgoodenuf...liked the tree...it left him speechless! With just a little grin on his face...I wonder if he was thinking of Christmases past, or Christmases he missed...or longs for?

    love

  4. Ruth!
    You are such a dear.
so glad I found your blog.
I'm sorry you haven't been feeling up to par lately.
I'll survive...if I can survive my own stupidity....I'll post about that tomorrow.

I'm so glad you like my tree. HOPE is awaiting decoration, but hasn't told me exactly what she wants yet.

    hugs to you...gentle

  6. Is it permissible to share the coloring page on my blog www.LemonSugarLyme.com? I've been fighting Lyme disease for going on three years, and things like this are inspiring. My friend has Menierer's disease. I have vertigo and tinnitus randomly due to the toll Lyme has done to me.

Of course you and your blog would be linked. My email is lori at lorianderson dot com.

    1. Hi Lori....Yes, you can use the image. I haven't posted on this site in a long time. I have been posting on my site about my illnesses more....especially about the vertigo and such...it is www.picnicwithants.com. Please just be sure to say Wendy Holcombe owns the copy and any time it is used I am to be credited and no one is to make any money off of the image. I hope that helps. I'm at John Hopkins right now, have an appointment at the vestibular clinic tomorrow to see if they have any more insight into my vertigo. I'll come by and check out your site soon.

      Cheers.
