To My Husband

Everyday He Loves Me

He holds my hair as my world spins
leaving me a wretched mess.

He brings me food
washes my body
cares for our home

He holds me
comforts me
helps me fight my battles.

He kisses me
caresses me
loves every part of me

To him I am no burden-
He loves me.

Everyday He Loves Me.

He watches me get my hopes up-
and holds me when they fall.

The words are so nice to hear,
but so easy to say.
Every day, he shows he loves me.

How can I write a tribute to a man who has given me so much?

The words seem to lose their potency after leaving my heart.

How do I express how much I love him?

My heart swells with emotions and words that will not come forth.

This man who shows his love each and every day.

Sometimes my Caregiver,
Often my Lover,
Always my Champion,
Forever my Hero,
My Husband,
My Friend.

I love you more than words can say.

    1. Judy....My first thought was...NEVER! but really....I am Stuart's Older Woman!! hahahaha!

      I'm glad you liked it.

I ordered a gift for Stuart for Valentine's day...thought oh, I'd be so slick..I can't do much but he'll get this big surprise, even though it was the day after I had a spinal tap...then it never arrived. It never came! I got a refund..but It never came! I'd been working on trying to put in words how much I appreciate him...so I had him read this instead...well the version that was still in progress and very very long.
he was humbled to say the least.

I'm still upset that is gift didn't arrive. but he is so special, I'm glad I could put it in words.

(btw...he was sneaky and got me a beautiful orchid and crab legs for Valentine's day!...oh the Crab legs...the most succulent things I've had in...well I think forever! what a grand night...not bad considering I'd just had a spinal tap!)

I am very pleased you liked it.
I haven't been drawing as much during this attack, but writing...that has been flowing a bit more.

      love

    1. thank you Rita,
it was much much longer...sounded more like 3 different thought processes going at once.
I hope I kept the best, and put it together in a way that didn't lose anything.
Stuart said, he doesn't deserve these words. Taking care of me is not a hardship....what I go through is the hardship. What he does is easy in comparison. He doesn't realize, he's not supposed to compare the two...he needs to take care of him too.
he is a very special person.

      thank you again

  3. I'm with Judy, this should be framed and put on a wall.

Oh...oh...gift idea for next year. Start a digital scrapbook with pictures and music. And include this wonderful poem. Then he can put it on his computer and play it whenever he wants. Especially if he has to go on a trip, he will have a piece of you with him when he is away.

  5. WORDS HAVE LIMITS , WE SAY THEM ANYWAY- THE FEELINGS THEY CREATE ARE TEMPORARY
AND WONDERFUL...THAT'S OK, SO ARE WE.
