Journal and Drawing - Early September

Playing with the Inktense.

Deciding on what to draw with.  Pens, pencils...does it matter?
Or am I just stalling...
Decided to draw this indecision...a great way to get started.

Finding Me again.
I will not be defined by my illness!

After a hard day.
In need of the Sun,
but welcoming the rain.
"....The tears fall from the sky, as they land on my face they blend with the wetness already there -
I am grateful to the Rain."

2 days of random drawing.
Learning to be much more comfortable just doodling, and accepting "mistakes" while drawing with a  pen.
It's just a different, not a "mistake".

Close up.  The spider was a "mistake"...a blob...oops...I made it a spider.  : )

I didn't plan to draw a person.
Where did she come from?
Drawn with dots....I like pointillism.

  1. Have you heard of Zentangle? Your drawings with a pen reminded me of the site. Basically, you doodle with a pen and mistakes are not to be corrected. The zen part is the meditative part of doodling. There's some package you can buy but if you go through the newsletters, most of them have an example of a pattern.

I've tried it a couple of times. Not really what I wanted to do at the time. I'll probably go back to it later. Right now, I'm in reading mode. I've done a bit of drawing lately, but not much.

  2. Maureen,
So funny that you mentioned Zentangle. I hadn't heard of it until night before last. I was searching for something on Amazon, and they suggested a couple of those books.
    (I drew this before.)
I've never been a real doodler. But I've always wanted to. Yesterday, I spent a good part of the day looking at Zentangle stuff.
Now I'm having a ball with it.

You'll see some soon. (but I like to color mine.)

  3. Sorry that you've been ill! Lovely artwork here; welcome to edm! I look forward to seeing more!

  4. Thank you Raena.
I feel like being ill is just a way of life for me...oh the joys of having a chronic illness...but some days are much better than others!
And the art has been helping...more than I thought possible.

    Thanks again,
    about to post more....right now!

OH, how exciting! You're leaving a comment!
I love comments, it's like that special little card you get in the mail you didn't expect!
Thank you!!!
